Structural Behaviours of Concrete-filled Steel Tubular (CFST) Connections with Innovative One-sided Bolts

Concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) columns have been widely recognised in construction due to their high load-bearing capacity and aesthetical appeal. However, the existing CFST connections such as welded connections are complicated and the one-sided bolts in the literature are either difficult to install or fabricate. This thesis focused on the CFST moment connection with proposed innovative one-sided bolt that is fast to install and easy to fabricate. It could achieve full tensile capacity of bolts and classified as moment-resisting connection. This allows faster construction time and simpler fabrication, which could be a potential alternative to existing CFST moment connections.
