It will rely on the unique reactivity of 1,n-enyne and -diynes esters when subjected to the gold(I) complex to access compounds of potential biological interest in an atom-economical manner under mild conditions. These studies will allow the formation of complex ring structure in a single pot reaction, starting from readily accessible materials.
