Stability analysis of horizontal convection under the centrifugal approximation

This thesis studies models of buoyancy-driven natural convection flow that depart from the standard implementation of the Boussinesq approximation that incorporate inertial and centrifugal effects. These models are tested against several benchmark problems and chiefly horizontal convection, where the implications for heat transfer and flow stability are revealed.
