Spectroscopic observations allow for detailed interpretation of the processes that govern the Sun. We establish a statistical baseline of activity by analysing quiet Sun conditions. We investigate the propagation of the energy released by solar eruptions across all layers of the solar atmosphere. An intriguing sunquake is detected. Mathematical methods are utilised to uncover the nature of peculiar manifestations in the aftermath of an eruption, discovering a highly turbulent coronal rain. We aim at understanding solar eruptions, the most energetic events in our corner of the Universe, as they are paramount for the improvement of current models of solar and stellar processes.
