Spectral energy cascade and scale interaction analysis in a spatially evolving turbulent channel flow

thesis
posted on 2023-04-05, 05:24 authored by EZHILSABAREESH KANNADASAN
Energy-containing eddies are the elementary structures of wall-bounded turbulent shear flows that carry most of the kinetic energy and momentum. Understanding the process of the spatial evolution of these eddies is essential for the modelling and controlling of industrial flows. This thesis presents the study of the spatial evolution of energetic turbulent structures and their interplay using a novel twin-channel direct numerical simulation (DNS) approach.
