The effects of pre-existing defects such as penetrated cracks, surface cracks and internal cracks on the mechanical behavior of brittle materials, particularly rocks, under complex stress conditions, are comprehensively analyzed, aiming at facilitating the research of rock fracture mechanics and offering valuable scientific insights for the design and management of underground rock structures.
