This exegesis explicates musical ideas, processes, and influences constituting my current jazz saxophone performance practice. It examines solution-based decision-making in the melodic growth of musical ideas within three selected improvisations; and degrees to which these contribute to the development of an idiosyncratic jazz saxophone melodic language.
