This thesis establishes theoretical knowledge and evidence for enhancing team-based learning and assessment in undergraduate engineering education. This is achieved with a case study of the undergraduate engineering faculty of a large Australian university. Four areas of team-based learning and assessment are examined: learning outcomes, instructional practice, the student perspective, and reflection. The research outcomes provide a systematic and coherent approach for enhancing student teamwork and team-based professional outcomes.
