Sleep correlates of working memory performance in younger and older adults

thesis
posted on 2020-09-11, 03:37 authored by ELISSA-YVETTE PASULA
Ageing is accompanied by changes to a number of body and brain processes. The quality and quantity of our sleep decline as we age. Our working memory, or ability to hold and work with information in mind, also deteriorates. This thesis explores how working memory responds to sleep loss differently in younger and older adults, and identifies aspects of sleep that are helpful to working memory performance.
