People with premanifest Huntington's disease (Pre-HD) experience sleep problems, which are associated with poorer mood. This thesis research examined sleep quality and daily activity patterns in people with Pre-HD and whether they impact thinking and disease progression. Over two weeks, adults with Pre-HD monitored their sleep-wake habits, completed questionnaires relating to mood and sleep and performed thinking and memory tests. Results from this research have improved our understanding of sleep and daily activity patterns in Pre-HD and their impact on thinking. This research has implications for screening and treating sleep disturbances in Pre-HD and provides important directions for future research.
