Simulations of Core-Collapse Supernovae: Studies of Black Hole Formation and Magnetohydrodynamical Effects

Supernovae, the energetic explosions signalling of the death of a massive star, are often studied with the aid of computer simulations. This thesis extends supernova simulations to include the effects of black hole formation and examines the impact of magnetic fields on the explosion itself, as well as the remnant left behind.
