This thesis explored rehabilitation and safe return to driving following road traffic injuries. It comprised a systematic review of methods for assessing at-risk drivers, a quantitative study using trauma registry data, and a qualitative study involving interviews with occupational therapists in Saudi Arabia. The research revealed challenges in rehabilitation services, including centralized service delivery, a shortage of specialized therapists, and ambiguity surrounding the roles of occupational therapists. It recommended the development of specialized training and infrastructure to support at-risk drivers and promote safer road practices, with the ultimate goal of reducing the incidence of road traffic injuries in the country.
