Safe Mobility and Safe Place: Creating liveable cities that accommodate movement and place

thesis
posted on 2023-10-23, 04:15 authored by JENNIFER RIVERA-GONZALEZ
This research analysed the connection between the Safe System (SS) principles and the Movement and Place Framework (M&PF), and the potential contribution of this linkage to the creation of liveability and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through a series of interviews and a reframing process, the critical requirements for communicating the SS principles to non-expert audiences at a personal level were identified. As a result, a digital tool was developed for users to interact with street design and operation parameters while learning about the impacts these decisions have on liveability and local SDGs.
