Parental involvement has been an interesting topic not only for researchers but also for educational stakeholders such as educators, and policymakers over many years. This is not surprising because many previous studies conducted all over the world have found that good practices and improved degrees of parental involvement have significantly brought about some advantages for students’ Unfortunately, very little has been known about parental involvement in the Indonesian context. The thesis suggests that the local cultures, traditions and beliefs could be used along with the adapted Western concepts for the betterment of parent-school partnership, particularly in the Indonesian context.
