This thesis describes the preparation and development of a novel planning support tool called SSANTO. This tool enables rapid suitability assessment for the placement of distributed green urban stormwater infrastructure called Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD). The preparation of SSANTO includes the development of a suitability framework, assessment of current distribution of WSUD in Melbourne and deep engagement with planning practice in both Australia and Indonesia.
