This thesis explores the impact of post-war economic development tools such as microfinance on women's economic security using an integrated Feminist Political Economy and Feminist Security Studies Perspective. It highlights the importance of the state and its structures in reproducing gendered violence (both direct and structural) and how conceptualisations of economic security needs to be more fluid to highlight everyday financial needs of women borrowers.
