Restorative Justice Processes for Survivors of Sexual and Family Violence

thesis

Can a process known as restorative justice give some victims of sexual or family violence a sense of justice? Can it help perpetrators, people who enabled or covered up the violence, or even the community? I investigated existing restorative justice programs for sexual and family violence to conclude that it can be very effective if the process is designed according to the individual needs of participants. I also investigated the history of feminist advocacy and mainstream politics in Victoria to describe how social and political changes since the 1970s have created conditions for restorative justice to be adopted here too.
