This thesis presents a newly developed physics-based ice thickness model (named GATHI) useful for data scarce glaciers which requires only remote sensing inputs such as annual glacier surface velocity and surface topography. It includes an algorithm useful for glacier velocity estimation algorithm (named SWIFT) which provides flexibility in terms of spatially varying window size unlike other existing softwares and is useful for feature tracking to estimates surface velocity of the glaciers where no field measured data is available.
