The spreading of tumour cells can be promoted by certain immune cells, therefore this thesis examines how this occurs. It characterises how a treatment designed for inflammatory conditions such as arthritis may also benefit breast cancer patients. This treatment reduces these villain-like immune cells without increasing the risk of infection.
