thesis

Currently, there is little research examining the relationships between sleep problems, psychosocial living difficulties and mental health among refugee populations. This thesis aimed to provide the most comprehensive examination of sleep disturbance in refugees by: 1) describing the extent of sleep disturbance in refugee population using self-report and objective measures; 2) investigating factors associated with sleep disturbance and at 12-month follow-up; and 3) evaluating conceptual models that explore the relationship between trauma exposure, sleep disturbance, post-migration stress, and mental health symptoms.
