Reducing Skeletal Fragility in Underserved Populations

thesis
posted on 2020-12-03, 21:17 authored by Hanh Nguyen
Skeletal fragility and management of osteoporosis has been a research priority in older post-menopausal women, with a paucity of studies in other populations at high fracture risk. These underserved populations are deserving of investigation, as the determinants for skeletal fragility in these cohorts are unique and cannot be extrapolated from older adults. Women with Turner Syndrome and adults at risk of sustaining atypical femur fractures are two such underserved populations. In this thesis, I aim to investigate the prevalence and determinants of skeletal fragility in these two cohorts.
