thesis

Mitochondria are structures within our cells that produce energy required for life. These tiny structures are composed of several membranes that allow for optimal production of energy. Interestingly, the membranes of the mitochondria show differences in shape between tissues that is controlled by proteins that bend them. This thesis explores these proteins to understand how the architecture of mitochondrial membranes is regulated.
