Re-evaluating the approach to preeclampsia – from diagnosis to outcome

thesis
posted on 2022-04-13, 13:03 authored by MAYA REDDY
Preeclampsia is a syndrome of pregnancy characterised by high blood pressure and organ dysfunction. It is an important cause of maternal and perinatal death and morbidity and in the long term is associated with an increased risk of heart disease. In this thesis, we have sought to re-evaluate the current definitions used in preeclampsia and our approach to prognostication of disease through shifting the focus from disease diagnosis to disease outcomes.
