Proximal Estimation of Soil Density using Sensing and Modelling

thesis
posted on 2023-10-02, 00:22 authored by AMIR TOPHEL
Amir's PhD thesis introduced a novel and faster way to estimate the density of materials, like soil, during road construction using rollers. The system can instantly and non-invasively determine its density by employing sensors that measure changes in the material's deformation. This approach offers a comprehensive overview of the construction site, swiftly pinpointing problematic areas. It's versatile and suitable for roads, landfills, and building foundations. With its patented methodology, this innovation transforms construction, making it smarter and more efficient. Importantly, it ensures robust road builds, minimising premature failures and reducing subsequent road maintenance.
