My thesis explored the perspectives of individuals working in programs aimed at men and boys. These programs sought to change the harmful outcomes of masculine norms on men and women. By exploring these perspectives, I was able to provide a more nuanced understanding of how change with men and boys can be promoted. My findings demonstrate that a key way to promote change is for those working with men and boys to be more critical about how they understand masculinity and to reconsider why they understand masculinity in that way.
