Progress in numerical methods for cosmological vacuum decay

Much like everyday matter, the universe itself exists in different phases. In between the hot, early universe and the present day, there might have been phase transitions much like when water boils or freezes. The thesis concerns the creation of new numerical techniques to help determine if and when these transitions happen.
