Preparation, Characterisation and Development of Novel Bi(V) Complexes as Anti-Leishmanial Drug Candidates

A large suite of new bismuth compounds were designed, synthesised and assessed for their potential to combat the deadly and widespread parasitical disease Leishmaniasis. Many proved effective against the parasite while minimising toxicity to human cells, providing promising lead compounds for further development as drug candidates and topical treatments.
