My research project draws on ecological writings, artworks, and concepts to interrogate how art practice and waste issues can engender learning, artistic experience, environmental awareness, and sustainable practices. To bring people closer to waste issues, I invite participants to dialogue and reflect on ecological issues using bioplastic materials that I create from food scraps and peels. Through a call-and-response approach, my research enables participants to engage with the bioplastic, and share their reflections and responses which, in turn, inspire me to create new works and present new perspectives around waste matters.
