This project focuses on the development of a composite material that combines a chemically active but fragile organic polymer (polyamine) and a robust inorganic (silica) network to ensure efficient and sustainable application of the resulting material in various aggressive environments. A detailed characterisation of structural and chemical properties of this composite was carried out. The results demonstrate that the developed material is an efficient, copper-specific adsorbent that can be used for copper extraction from polluted sites, wastes and various copper-rich mixtures.
