Plants and Purinergics: A Study of Stinging Nettle Extract and the Male Rodent Urogenital System

This thesis examined the effect of stinging nettle extracts on the contractility of the rat prostate gland and on male mouse fertility. It showed the potential of the leaf extract to contain a small drug-like molecule for the development of new therapeutics for the symptomatic relief of benign prostatic hyperplasia and for the development of a novel oral male contraceptive.
