Planar Array Antennas for Soil Moisture Sensing Radiometer

thesis
posted on 2021-08-10, 09:32 authored by SHAHRIAR HASAN SHEHAB
Soil moisture monitoring can predict the actual need for water for an area of land which can lead to better utilization of water. Due to the limited personnel and high cost, airborne microwave remote sensing can be the optimum solution for measuring the moisture content of soil of a large area. The main goal of this thesis is to investigate low-cost, lightweight and fully planar design solutions for the airborne phased array antenna systems at three different frequencies i.e. L-, Ku- and Ka-bands, which will eventually lead to spacecraft for soil moisture mapping.
