The thesis investigates both passive and active phase shifters technologies, examines the performance of different types of phase shifters, variable gain amplifiers (VGAs), low noise amplifiers (LNAs), switches, and other microwave components, designs and implements L-band (1.4 GHz), Ku-band (18.7 GHz), and Ka-band (37 GHz) phase shifters for soil moisture phased array radiometer antennas.
