This study explores how personality influences our experience of job stress and the selection of our preferred coping strategies. The results indicate that Neuroticism tendencies are linked to greater use of ineffective coping, like Avoidance, which increases job stress. While Conscientiousness and Extraversion lead to more effective coping, such as Problem-Focused, Seeking Support, Religion and Humour, which protects against job stress. These results have important implications for workplace interventions and support programs for the Malaysian working force, such as developing tailored stress intervention programs to foster a supportive workplace environment and enhance employee wellbeing.
