As adolescents are our future leaders, the present study examined the personality and social support antecedents to servant and narcissistic leader behaviours, as a way to better understand the development of successful future leaders. The results indicate agreeable and conscientious adolescent leaders are more likely to exhibit servant leader behaviours, while neurotic adolescent leaders are more likely to exhibit narcissistic leader behaviours. Overall, social support is generally instrumental in increasing servant leader behaviours and reducing narcissistic leader behaviours across different personality dimensions; however, it can increase narcissistic leader behaviours in neurotic adolescent leaders.
