Performance of building modules production and transportation

thesis
posted on 2020-04-27, 11:21 authored by FILOMENA INNELLA
Modular construction is a building technique based on the use of building modules, transported from the factory to the construction site for the final assembly. It has been realised that the management of the modular construction industry and the transportation process of building modules deserve further investigation as they contribute to extra costs for the industry. Therefore, this study, first, aims to provide guidelines to enhance productivity by investigating the implementation of lean construction strategies for modular construction. Additionally, this project aims to develop a framework to assess the performance of building modules in transportation for the prediction of damages.
