Payment channels help make blockchains more scalable, but creating them for scriptless blockchains like Monero is challenging. This study introduces AuxChannel, the first bi-directional payment channel protocol for scriptless blockchains without a limited lifetime. It only requires the support of verifiably encrypted signatures, known as adaptor signatures. We adapt AuxChannel to Monero, calling it MoChannel. We also propose MoNet, a multi-hop payment framework ensuring anonymity and fungibility for Monero. To resolve channel disputes, a distributed third party called FPSS is suggested. They introduce versatile building blocks like CVES, VCOF, GCAS, and FPSS to efficiently construct payment channels and multi-hop payments on scriptless blockchains.
