This critical participatory action research was conducted with 27 members of the Hope Co-Operative, an emerging grassroots organisation in Australia. Adopting the theory of practice architectures, it examined how a group of young people seeking asylum worked in solidarity with citizens to navigate the oppressive conditions of Australia's harsh asylum-seeker policy regime. This included working around barriers to education and meaningful employment to sustain the lifeworlds of Hope Co-operative's members.
