Pain in Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy
thesis

Children with cerebral palsy have altered muscle tone which makes it more difficult for them to develop, move and play like typically developing children. In children with the dyskinetic type of cerebral palsy, their bodies move in an uncontrollable way making their posture and movement appear twisting or jerky in nature. Children with this type of cerebral palsy frequently experience pain that can affect their well-being, ability to complete daily tasks, and quality of life. This thesis builds more knowledge of the pain presentations and experiences of this complex population of children to help advance practice in this area.
