Low back pain is a significant cause of disability worldwide and people with low back pain are frequently imaged unnecessarily, which can lead to unnecessary treatments. This thesis examines a novel approach to overdiagnosis and overtreatment of low back pain by exploring the role of the imaging report in the management of low back pain, and identifies possible solutions.
