Oocytes, Metabolism and DNA Repair: Elucidating the Interplay in a Translational Ageing Model

This thesis evaluated key factors in the decline of mouse and human egg quality with age; metabolism and DNA repair capacity. It identified unique energy levels and differences in the ability to respond to DNA damage in young eggs compared to those from older mothers. Together, providing a better understanding of why eggs decline in quality with age.
