On the mechanism, detection and mitigation studies of corrosion under insulation of mild steel

thesis

Corrosion under insulation (CUI) has demonstrated as a devastating issue in the oil and gas industries. The mechanism of CUI is not well established and current technologies to detect and mitigate CUI are insufficient, expensive and time-consuming. This thesis studies the CUI mechanism under a range of environmental factors and develops an economical and realistic strategy for CUI detection and mitigation.
