In the age of Energiewende, the Federal Republic of Germany pursues an exit from its nuclear and coal-fired power industries, while embarking on a transition towards a low-emissions, renewables-based economy. Literature stands in a unique position to make sense of a remarkable period of transformation. This research project investigates the manner in which a selection German authors anticipates and responds to the advent of a national Energiewende.
