Observations and Models of Nuclear Burning in Accreting Neutron Stars

This thesis examines nuclear burning in accreting neutron stars through observations and numerical simulations. It enhances the efficiency of numerical simulations on this topic and identifies new sources with a special mode of nuclear burning that could provide insights into the physics of the outer crusts of neutron stars.
