Engagement and voice can support nurses’ health, which is key to their well-being. By participating in interviews and diary writing, registered nurses working in Australian hospitals provided insights into their perspective of engagement and voice. This study uncovers the important themes of (1) engagement behaviours and contingencies and (2) voice strategies and relationalities. This study uses these themes to develop develops a model of the interplay between engagement and voice. The model shows that engagement and voice are much more social and bound to context.
