Nuclear Pariahs: A Comparison Between North Korea and South Africa

The invention of nuclear weapons has created an unparalleled threat for the world, as a result efforts towards finding effective dismantlement strategies have become a daunting challenge. This thesis draws a comparison between the nuclear weapons programme of two nuclear pariahs North Korea and apartheid South Africa, with the ultimate intention of discovering aspects from South Africa's historic nuclear dismantlement can be used as lessons in the future dismantlement of North Korea's nuclear weapons programme.
