Fetal growth restriction (FGR) is a pregnancy complication that results in a fetus with compromised growth. FGR is associated with neuromorbidity, which depends on timing of onset and severity of FGR and gestational age at birth. I investigated the impact of neonatal ventilation on FGR brain injury using a large animal model of FGR, and evaluated the effects of early umbilical cord blood cell therapy on FGR brain injury. The detection and assessment of FGR brain injury, which is frequently subtle, can be challenging. I evaluated the role of advanced brain imaging analysis techniques for detection of FGR brain injury.
