Novel approaches for modulating endogenous plasmalogens: applications to the treatment of metabolic disease
thesis
posted on 2020-04-05, 22:55 authored by SUDIP PAULPlasmalogens are membrane lipids with numerous biological activities. Considering their reduced levels in disease conditions, modulation of endogenous plasmalogen levels has been suggested as a potential therapeutic strategy. However, an optimal plasmalogen modulation approach has not been defined. This thesis proposes novel dietary and genetic approaches for productive and precise modulation of endogenous plasmalogens which may be an effective therapy for prevention, attenuation and treatment of metabolic disease.
