Jason Palazzolo’s PhD thesis presents a body of academic research focused towards developing novel therapies to treat thrombosis and related thrombotic diseases, namely ischaemic stroke. This research encompassed projects that investigated promising thrombolytic therapies, such as recombinant protein fusion constructs, as well as nanoparticle drug delivery platforms. Additionally, findings related to the development of a new assay for measuring plasminogen activation were also included. These works aim to contribute towards advancing the field of therapeutic research in treating thrombosis, with the hope to offer future patients an improved chance of survival and enhanced quality of life post-diagnosis.
