Nonlinear vibro- acousto- ultrasonic waves for fatigue cracking detection in key rail components

Safety monitoring of the ageing train structures has always been a major challenge to the rail industry. This thesis develops a damage detection system based on nonlinear ultrasonic wave to identify fatigue crack at early stage on bogie frame to avoid catastrophic failure.
