Decarbonisation efforts via the electrification of transportation can significantly contribute to achieving Australia's national greenhouse gas emission reduction goal of net zero by 2050. However, the integration of electric vehicles (EVs) at a large scale, coupled with uncontrolled charging and discharging, along with uncertainties in low-voltage distribution networks, presents challenges in real-time network operations. This thesis proposes novel tools and methodologies for the coordination and management of EVs in smart distribution networks, considering network and market constraints, as well as EV owners’ preferences for providing effective network services, enhancing market efficiency, and benefiting EV owners.
